There are many kinds of hose clamps, but they all serve the same purpose: to securely hold hoses to fittings. Hose clamps come in a variety of sizes and types, from small screw-type clamps to large frame-type clamps, and can be made of a variety of materials, including metal, plastic, and even rubber.

Regardless of the clamp type, proper installation prevents leaks. First, position the clamp around the hose so that its jaws align with the fitting. Then tighten the screw or clamp until the hose is firmly secured in the fitting. If necessary, use a wrench to tighten the clamp further.
